Classes
Yoga Class in SYM is a traditional, slow paced, meditative class that helps encourage proper breathing, flexibility, strength and vitality in the body while calming the mind. Because Yoga is a spiritual system with a physical component, this non-competitive approach helps the practitioner gain much more than just a healthy body.
In our classes we teach:
- Kriya (Cleansing Techniques)
- Surya Namaskar (The Sun Salutations) know more
- Asana (Yogic Postures)
- Pranayama (Breathing Exercises)
- Yoga Nidra (Relaxation Techniques)
- Dhyana (Meditation)
and much more, focussing on the following 5 points:
Proper Exercise
There are numourous modern physical culture systems designed to develop the muscles through mechanical movements and exercises. As yoga regards the body as a vehicle for the soul in its journey towards perfection, asanas are designed to develop not only the body, but they also broaden the mental faculties and the spiritual capacities.
Satya Yoga Mandir guides the aspirants to the proper way of exercise that will lead them go beyond mere physical benefits, becoming mental exercises in concentration and meditation.
Proper Breathing
Most people use only a fraction of their potential lung capacity when breathing. In our classes you can experience the Yogic Breathing Techniques.
Proper Relaxation
When the body and the mind are constantly overworked, their natural efficiency diminishes. Modern social life, food, work and even entertainment make it difficult for people to relax. Many have even forgotten that rest and relaxation are Nature's way of recharging. Even while trying to rest, the average person expends a lot of physical and mental energy through tension.
We teach you to economise the energy produced by your body and to regulate and balance the work of the body and mind by guiding you to Physical, Mental and Spiritual relaxation.
Proper Diet
You will be guided to the yogic diet that help you to attain a high standard of health, keen intellect and serenity of mind.
Positive Thinking and Meditation
When the surface of a lake is still, one can see the bottom very clearly. This is impossible when the surface is agitated by waves. In the same way, when the mind is still, with no thoughts or desires, you can see the 'Self', and this is called 'YOGA'.
You will be learning the techniques that leads to Meditation, in our daily classes.
